How To Get People To Pay Attention

In this noisy new social media world it’s hard to know How To Get People To Pay Attention. I’m sure we can all agree on that right? Yet some people manage to cut through the noise and attract people towards them. They may have less to offer than you or a less desirable character than yours, but somehow they manage to bring people in. So first let’s get into this video i made on the topic and then we can talk about it.

Firstly, the most common mistake i see people make on Social Media is to be very vanilla, generic…basically boring. In terms of rappers online which is my primary audience they think ‘in the studio’ as an update will suffice in garnering attention. *yawn*. Now compare that to something like “Had an epiphany in the studio tonight, three years of hard work and dedication, struggles, strife all came together and resulted in me creating my most incredible work so far.” There’s a big difference right?

You need to create energy in your updates and have people *feel* what you are saying, things they can relate to, thins they’ve been through, thinks they would like to see in their lives, things that interest them, things that inspire them. I mean there’s no ‘say this = get likes’ updates. it’s something you have to work out for yourself but you have to draw for everything that surrounds a situation you’re in and not just post the vanilla version, paint your audience a picture so they can experience that situation through your updates.

I post uplifting updates, ideas, strategies etc. Who would give a shit about what i say if i just posted ‘Get On Your Grind’ or ‘Make This Money’? It’s boring, its done, it’s not inspiring. Let’s be the creatives we are in every aspect of our lives, your creativity doesn’t need to stop when you leave the studio. You have to be just as creative (if not more in 2016) when it comes to your promotion and marketing.

Life is deeper than what happens, it’s everything that surrounds what happens.
